The Rangitikei

The Rangitikei District in the center of New Zealand’s North Island is named after the river that has cut deep furrows into the landscape. The Rangitikei River offers many swimming spots down its length and is a favorite with boaties who love to zoom down its rapids. The hills and backdrop of Ruahine Ranges make the Rangitikei a very picturesque setting. These are some of many paintings that are featured in the book Aotearoa New Zealand Watercolour Journey
