Taihape and Central North Island, NZ

I grew up on a farm out of Taihape, on the central plateau of New Zealand's North Island. Every time I visit the area I am re-inspired. Taihape has an alpine village feel, the surrounding hills are vivid green and blue and the locals are friendly. Perhaps it is the most bi-cultural towns in New Zealand?
